20. internationales Videofestival Bochum - Call for VJ Entries

Eine schöne Nachricht - das 20. internationale Videofestival Bochum hat endlich seinen CALL FOR ENTRIES für CONTEST FÜR AUDIOVISUELLE PERFORMANCES gestartet! VJ-Künstler und Performer des audiovisuellen Bereiches sind aufgerufen, dreißigminütige Promo-Sets zusammen mit einem Bewerbungsformular bis zum 1. März 2010 beim Videofestival einzureichen.

Der ehemals als VJ Contest bekannte Wettbewerb wurde im Laufe der Videofestivaljahre als eine separate Disziplin für die sich rasant entwickelnde Videoperformance Kunst eingeführt. Ziel war, den Videoperformances eine separate Plattform außerhalb der Clublandschaft zu bieten. Seit dem hat sich der Contest erfolgreich im Videofestival Repertoire etabliert und bietet nach wie vor einen etwas ungewöhnlichen Blick auf Audiovisuelle Kunst.

Infamous VJ Contest of the 18th International Videofestival Bochum

Buckle up for the 7th time:

° VJ Contest of the 18th International Videofestival in Bochum, Germany, takes place from 29. - 31. Mai 2008!°

The deadline for the VJ-set entries is the 3rd of February.

In its first year, the Contest started as an experiment, created to give the expanding art of VJing a stage to prove its artistic significance. Meanwhile, the contest has become one of the major parts of the Videofestival and is established as equivalent to the main International Video Competition. The Bochum concept is, as far as we know, still unique for a VJ Contest:
presenting a 30-minute live set in front of a seated, attentively observing audience. This procedure stresses particularly the visual level – in contrast to the classical situation inside a club.

The image counts! We are excited to see which ideas and concepts will be sent in and how the images will be created. We are looking forward to receive plenty of new suggestions that will allow us to show a vivid and versatile VJ Contest once more.
