dear visualists,
we are proud to announce the foundation of a local association here in Berlin that acts and sees itself in the fine tradition of the global AViT network, providing a contact point for local video artists and visualists and intending to collaborate with international video-art communities to exchange knowledge and experiences. Our association is called VISUAL BERLIN and consists of local visualists close to the circles of the german online platform kunstundforum.de. Some of us have already participated in organizing the “Open AirVit” and “avit^c3″ events in the last years and local VJ meetups with laptop jams here in Berlin, like the “VJ Stammtisch” and the “Bermudavisualisten” guerilla side-event during the “Inframe International VJ Battle” in october 2005.
We are proud to announce, that the VISUAL BERLIN association will be responsible for sound and visuals at the art&beauty area of this year’s “22c3 - chaos communication congress”, in company with c-base.org, kulturtaikonauten.org and supported by the jfe.kleinmachnow. VISUAL BERLIN will present harmonic showcases of different audio- and video-artists - visual jam sessions during the day along with collaboration and communication. During the whole time there will be musical output from several DJs and Open Source Netlabels. Furthermore VISUAL BERLIN will organize the audiovisual program of the 22C3 Aftershowparty on the last day at the C-base.
